What We're Learning (10/31 to 11/4)

Math: Students will be working on interpreting and generating shape and numeral patterns. This is a great time to continue to reinforce basic facts.

Social Studies: Students will continue to learn about 6 explorers that affect exploration in the Americas (John Cabot, Jacque Cartier, Juan Ponce de Leon, Henry Hudson).

Spelling: Students will be working on Sort 11 for spelling this week. Please be sure to have them study their spelling words each night and do an activity on Spelling City.

Reading - Students will continue reading "Tiger Rising". They love it! Students will learn how to complete a reading log that we will begin using. Please look for this to come home on Monday. We want to be sure that students are reading and understanding what they read.

Writing: Students will continue working on their narrative pieces or begin a new one! Each student is in a different phase in the writing process. We will focus on using compound and complex sentences in our writing.

Please, please check your child's Friday folder for important flyers and graded work each week. Return the red slip without the graded work. You may keep the work for your records.
