Hi! In order to help reinforce what we're learning in school next week, here is what we'll be talking about next week.

Math - Students will start long division, BUT will be using strategies that reinforce multiplication and their understanding of place value. Students will start this week learning the AREA MODEL/BOX METHOD for division. Students do not learn the regular long division strategy until 6th grade. Please review the link below to ensure that you are helping your child with the strategy learned in class.

Social Studies - Students will continue learning about the effects of European colonization through their understanding of the 13 original colonies, the types of people that lived in the colonies, and the start of the American Revolution.

Reading - Students will be assessed by the teachers to determine their most current reading level. These will be reported on the 2nd quarter report cards.
